Welcome to our blog. We are currently a family of 4 - myself, my husband Travis, our new son Rome and our dog Nollie. I went through numerous ideas for a blog title. Yes, I'm poking fun at the Duggars! We really only intend to have 2 kids (maybe 3). Another title I considered was "Two Kids and Stopping" ;). I thought I would start a blog to keep track of our life happenings, most recently the birth of our son, Rome. Stay tuned to watch this love grow...

PLAY DATE AT CHEESMAN PARK
I like having Fridays off so I can do "Mom stuff". This Friday, we had a play date in Cheesman Park with Cassie, Avery and Vivienne and Johanna and Brady. It was 70 degrees, so we took advantage of the nice weather before the snow storms come rolling in. However, it is forecasted to be 65 degrees on Thanksgiving Day too, so we might have a few more outdoor days. Rome finally fits in the kiddie swings (kind of). We made it work anyway. He seemed to like it, but not as much as his bouncer (this kid's gonna have some hops)!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!
For Travis' birthday, we made reservations at TAG on Larimer Square and Roxanne offered to babysit. We had a great time. The food was AMAZING! We both said it was one of the best meals we'd ever had.
Happy Birthday, Travis. You are an amazing Dad. Thank you for working so hard so I don't have to (even though you often have to hear about my "other" full time job). I admire your ability to stay cool. I know you have stressful days at work, but you never bring it home. You always make the most of your time with Rome, and I love that about you. And, even though I pick on you for not changing diapers right or not getting bottles to the right temperature, at least you try...and that's what matters. What can I say? I have high standards...that's why I picked you to be my husband ;).

HAPPY 1/2 BIRTHDAY ROME!!!
Rome,
Today you are 6 months old! Where does the time go? You are transforming right before my eyes. You still amaze me every day. I think you are a perfect combination of myself and Daddy right now. When you smile real big, you look like your Dad and when you concentrate on something you look more like me. You are one chill duuuuude. Nothing much works you up. You whine when you really need something. Otherwise, you are pretty content. You can entertain yourself for about 10 minutes and then it's time for something new and stimulating. You have the most amazing, dazzling blue eyes. Our friend Courtney comments on them every time she sees you. She says they have lots of "wisdom" in them and they represent an "old soul". I must say, you do seem older than your young spry age of 6 months. You listen intently when I talk to you. It doesn't matter what I'm saying, you always act like you understand and care. Here are some other things you do:
You smile a lot and you think I'm the funniest person on earth. You laugh when I eat your toes or blow on your belly. This is how I keep you entertained at the grocery store and on the changing table. Works every time!
You get excited very randomly. Out of nowhere, you will gasp real loud and start kicking your feet. I think the kicking is due to your new Jumping Johnny we borrowed from Finley. You LOVE to bounce!
You sit up like a Big Boy. You would rather sit up than any of that "tummy time" stuff.
You are now eating rice cereal, baby food and baby oatmeal twice a day. You really like pears and squash. Peaches make you squint and make funny faces and you'll eat spinach, but you would rather blow it out instead of swallowing it.
You have two bottom teeth! I think more are coming. I'm guessing it will be your "vampire" teeth (I don't know the proper name/number).
Your favorite toy is anything you can get your hands on that isn't made for babies, namely the remote control or my iPhone.
You blow lots of bubbles with your mouth and gurgle. I try every day to get you to say "Ma" and "Da"...baby steps!
You reach your arms out to me when I come to pick you up. It makes me feel so loved!
You LOVE to play "peek-a-boo".
You have officially found your wee-wee and you protect it in the bath.
We couldn't go to the park today because of the snow, but I know how much you love being outside, so I put on your snow suit (big Thanks to cousin Keller for it) and we went outside for a 6-month-old photo shoot.
I love you, Rome. You have given me the most cherished 6 months of my life and I can't wait for many, many, many more. I promise to appreciate you for exactly who you are every day of your life.
