TOILET BOLT CAP

So, it turns out that Rome is not a fan of traditional kid toys.  Nope, this kid is a boy through and through.  If it doesn't make noise, he doesn't want it.  I recently saw a Pinterest photo of a wall decal for a little boy's room that said "boy (n): noise with dirt on it".  So true!  Most recently though, Rome's favorite "toy" is the white cap that covers the bolts on the Loo.  Some of ours are loose, so he likes to "discover" them every morning.  Like clockwork, he crawls into the bathroom and bee lines it for the toilet.  Once he gets the cap, he just starts beating it on the tile floor.  Needless to say, I have taken this opportunity to clean my toilets to a spit shine.  Here's the action that goes down every morning.

I've been working some loooong hours on a side project I picked up.  It has been really stressful, but we all took it in stride.  I tried to only work after Rome went to bed, and on weekends, but toward the end it got pretty intense and I was working pretty much anytime I was home.  I would like to give a big thanks to Daddy for stepping up and taking excellent care of Rome while I was busy.  Not that I had any doubt in the first place, but I know Travis was busy and stressed from work as well, so we all appreciate the teamwork that went into making the last couple weeks run as smooth as possible!

WINTER HUT TRIP '12

We all made it back in one piece!  Mark down Rome's first winter hut trip a S U C C E S S!!  We had an absolute blast on the winter hut trip.  We had sun and snow, at just the right times.  Rome was a trooper.  He rode on the snow mobile for the first time (and borrowed Finley's helmet).  We snow mobiled up to the trailhead (about 2 miles) and then hiked in a little less than a mile.  I carried Rome in the Kelty backpack and Travis helped Oz carry the rest of the load.  It snowed on Friday evening, but each time we had to be outside, it was beautiful...as long as you were bundled up.  Saturday was Rome's 10-month birthday!

We love getting into the backcountry with the France's.  We are lucky to live amongst such beauty.  I hope we can teach Rome to grow up appreciating it to it's fullest and not taking it for granted.  Here are some pics from the trip:
