NAVAJO LAKE TRIP

This year we planned a camping and boating trip to Navajo Lake on the border of Colorado and New Mexico.  We invited our friends who also have a little boy (9 months older than Rome).  As speculative as we were about this trip - camping with two toddlers - the trip was a beaming success.  The boys were on their best behavior.  They loved playing in the dirt at the campground, they squeezed in naps on the boat and they slept like champions over night!  We could have done without the mosquitos, though!

This lake is amazing and one of Colorado's hidden gems for wakeboarding.  The water was glass every time we were out.  We got in plenty of wakeboarding sessions, we went cliff jumping and swam a lot!  It was a nice relief from the HOT Colorado weather we've been having.  We definitely want to make this an annual summer trip and we hope to have many more memories here that Rome will remember.

A BIG Thanks to Travis for being a trooper and driving us all week and watching us have fun when he couldn't (he blew his ACL for the fourth time two weeks prior)

Rome wasn't sure about his new floaty.  Oh well, we ended up losing it anyway...it flew out of the boat and we didn't see it.

HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE

Finally, I can cross hot air ballooning off my bucket list!  Travis and I bought a Groupon for a hot air balloon ride last summer and finally booked a trip.  A big thanks to Fun Aunt Rachel for babysitting Rome while we went (a sick Rome, at that).  It was an absolute perfect day - bluebird Colorado skies and we ended with a champagne toast!
